@psychologyposts_ It was found that the total number of children or sons didn’t have any kind of effect on fathers. However, it was discovered that the number of daughters was linked to paternal longevity.

The study is claiming that fathers with daughters tend to live longer and the more daughters they have, the longer they live — by “74 weeks for each daughter born,” to be specific. And while that’s a piece of pretty good news for all the dads out there, the data didn’t do as well when it came to mothers.

According to the study that was published in the American Journal of Human Biology, both daughters and sons have a negative impact on a mother’s health and reduce her lifespan.

Contradicting that specific study, another one is claiming that having a child, regardless of the gender, increases the lifespan of both parents.

Based on data collected over 14 years, these researchers have found that couples with a child are more likely to live longer compared to the ones who choose to remain childfree.

@fakkadkalam @yash.kumar.raj Last Sunday I volunteered in a running event for the first time. Red Stone Ultra.

I always wanted to see the other side of our sport. How organisers plan and execute, what and how things go wrong, how organisers and volunteers improvise in such cases.

This was a learning experience for me. I made 2 big mistakes, 1 of which did raise the heart rate of our organiser, @fakkadkalam . This experience will not only help me in my next volunteering event but will also make me a more responsible runner.

This opportunity also showed me, how we runners sometimes cross the line and take advantage of organisers and volunteers.
.
I was at the 21km mark along with 2 others. We had to send 30k and 50k runners in the right direction along with catering to them and capturing mandatory details.

Few runners, who were not running the event, but were doing their “long run” on the same route, came in a herd and started plundering the aid station. They didn’t bother to ask us before taking anything. I had to ask them 2-3 times to give way to the actual participants so that they could take the essentials and we could note their details. These “runners” were not carrying their own hydration. I suppose they were certain that they’ll get everything along the route. They must have thought that it was the organiser’s responsibility to make arrangements for the unwanted guests.

Please understand even a stranger would not hesitate to give a glass of water. But it doesn’t mean that you think that it’s your right to snatch the glass from him.

I believe, runners as a community should be more ethical and have integrity. In a world where people are running for fake records, fooling people in the name of charity, and trying to be fake “influencers”, try to be a person who stands out from the crowd.

🏃‍♂️ Just completed The Border Hell Race ULTRA 50K Run, and what a journey it’s been! 🌟 Flagged off at noon with confidence in my energy and training up to 32-33kms. Battled a blister at 18kms, inner knee pain, and challenging slopes. Despite contemplating surrender, pushed through till 20kms. Hydration points every 10kms kept me going.

With 5:30hrs left for the remaining 30kms, I dragged myself to the 30km hydration point, found my safe zone, balanced my body, gained momentum, and hit my target. Minor cramp at 33kms led to a brief walk. The weather turned colder after 40kms, but the countdown to the finish line had begun.

Navigating the darkness post-40kms, guided by the headlamps of 100kms and 100milers, I triumphantly reached the finish line. 🏁

Consistency in nutrition was key—1 @univedsports Salt Capsule every 6kms, 1 @fastandup_india Energy Gel every 8kms, and snacking on Snickers, dates, and chikki at hydration points.
